Day Three Continued, Cannes

On our way back to Nice from Grasse, we stopped in Cannes for dinner. The area near the water is pretty, thriving and very ritzy. We ate at an outdoor cafe which served some very traditional, very delicious Provencal food. We were entertained by the waiter (very much a jokester), a family beside us (each person ordered a pizza and all ate about one slice each, making faces before they paid and left), and the constant flow of street vendors and performers, all trying new and interesting ways to get a quick buck, and all who somehow melted away the minute a police car drove by.

We couldn't leave Cannes without going by the "Palais des Festivals et des Congrès" where the famous film festival takes place each year. We ran into Keanu Reeves (the Matrix) and some other interesting people on the red carpet. Unfortunately, they weren't giving out autographs.
