After a long drive from the airport and Omaha beach, we relaxed with aperitifs, a delicious Normandy dinner, and a walk through our little stone village of Vauville. We are in the process of gathering information about the long history of this place. At this point we do know that it used to be a much bigger village, and that it has been attacked many times because of its strategic location on the coast and near the Channel islands. The picture above is of the corner of the old church and graveyard, with the Chateau Vauville in the background. Below you can see the foot bridges that lead from the road to the houses over little streams of water. It is so pretty in the spring!
